Frequently Asked Questions
What are your sustainability practices?
As a part of Colorado State University, we strive to provide locally sourced items on our menu. All disposable service-wear items are fully compostable, and nondisposable items used are completely washable. In an attempt to reduce plate waste for your events, our menu offers many preportioned items. Any leftover food that is unfit to donate to students or the Food Bank of Larimer County is composted.
Can additional food be made for unexpected changes?
In most cases, yes, but it might not be one of the entrees on your predetermined menu.
The Food Court located on Level 200 of the Lory Student Center may also be utilized in the event that Catering cannot provide additional entrees during emergency situations.
How long can food remain at my event?
Providing quality food is our number one safety priority. LSC Catering makes sure to follow Environmental Health Policy, therefore all hot and cold foods are kept within safe temperature ranges for up to two hours. Nonperishable items (i.e. baked goods and beverages) may be left out for the duration of your event. If you anticipate that your event might go longer than the specified time frame, please make arrangements with the Catering Coordinator prior to your event.
Does LSC Catering offer alcoholic beverage services?
Yes, LSC Catering has a liquor license to serve many types of alcoholic beverages to fit your event. Please speak with your Catering Coordinators for availability and pricing.
What is the minimum amount of food provided?
The minimum amount is dependent upon your final count. The final count is needed one week prior to the event. This also determines the minimum charges on your bill. Counts received after this period will be left up to the Executive Chef and Catering Director to determine how we will be able to accommodate the request.
Increases may be accepted yet, decreases will not be accommodated. We cannot credit your bill if guests who have made RSVPs do not attend the event.
When can I expect to be invoiced for catering services?
Catered event billing occurs post-event. An invoice is mailed about 3-5 business days after the event. Full payment is due upon receipt of the invoice.
Can you accommodate my setup and audio-visual needs?
Yes, we are a full-service event planning operation and are more than happy to assist in any way that we can. For more information about pricing and services, please visit the Lory Student Center’s Event Planning Services Office online or call (970) 491-0229.
Is there a standard menu depending on the time of day?
Our menu is designed with you in mind. With that being said, each customer creates their own unique menu, and if you do not see something that fits your needs, please let one of our Catering Coordinators know and they will work with our Culinary Team to cook something up just for you.
Can you accommodate meals for guests with specific dietary needs?
Yes, we are able to provide various meals designed to meet most dietary restrictions. If you see something on our menu that interests you that you are uncertain about, please reach out to a Catering Coordinator so we can address your concern.
When should I place my catering order?
Please contact your Catering Coordinator at least two weeks prior to your event to ensure full staffing and menu availability. Due to the high volume of events that we cater, requests made within two weeks may or may not be accommodated.
